The Brouns name has been connected to specialty glass craftsmanship since 2006, when Michiel Brouns established Histoglass Ltd. During his leadership, the company became a recognized leader in historic replacement glass systems with advanced thermal performance solutions. After selling his ownership interest in Histoglass Ltd in 2023, Michiel continued collaborating with architects, preservation consultants, and restoration professionals, ultimately leading to the launch of Brouns Glass in 2026.

Brouns Glass provides glass products that preserve the authentic appearance of historic windows while improving insulation and energy efficiency for modern standards. Because many heritage buildings feature narrow window rebates that cannot accommodate standard insulated glass units, Brouns Glass developed an ultra-slim double-glass system specifically engineered for historic wood and metal frames. Although these slim units are thinner than conventional modern glass units, they still deliver substantial thermal improvements compared to traditional single-pane glass
